【Scaffolding Construction Achievements】Omorihashi Bridge

No lane restrictions or barges were needed at all! There was almost no impact on road users!

We would like to introduce our construction achievements for the inspection work on the Omorikawa Bridge (Phase 1) (a five-span continuous post-tensioned PC box girder bridge) spanning the Omorikawa River on the Akita Minami Bypass (National Route 7). Due to the presence of a water pipe bridge and Phase 2 on either side of Phase 1, inspections using a bridge inspection vehicle were difficult, which is why we adopted a "rack scaffold." Since the installation spans consist of five spans, we installed one unit on the high water bed and conducted inspection work by moving it from span to span until reaching the opposite bank. When moving over the piers, there was no need for lane restrictions or barges, so there was almost no impact on road users. Additionally, by using brackets to suspend the running rails from the ground cover, we were able to install them without using post-installed anchors. Furthermore, by using a mid-level scaffold, we were able to accommodate a 2.7m change in girder height. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

[Scaffolding Construction Achievements] Kiso River Ohashi Bridge (Downstream)・Ibi Nagara Ohashi Bridge (Downstream)

When moving the "rack scaffolding" over the bridge pier to change the floor, there was no need for road restrictions or barges at all!

We would like to introduce our construction achievements in the inspection work for the Kiso River Ohashi Bridge (downstream) and the Ibi Nagara Ohashi Bridge (downstream). Both bridges have an upper structure type of "lower chord simple steel Warren truss bridge," with 12 spans and 14 spans, respectively. It was necessary to complete the inspection work quickly, but the main structure posed obstacles, making it difficult to use bridge inspection vehicles. Therefore, we adopted a method of installing a "rack scaffold" movable floor on the high water bed and conducting the inspection work while shifting it for each span, progressing all the way to the opposite bank. When shifting the movable floor over the bridge piers, there was no need for road restrictions or barges, so there was almost no impact on users. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

It is possible to minimize the impact on ground operations! We were able to install it without any issues by utilizing its characteristics.

We would like to introduce our construction achievements related to the ceiling finishing work for the new international passenger terminal building at New Chitose Airport. Since the installation rail components (large roof truss) are curved in a planar manner, the track width has changed. However, by utilizing the characteristics of the "rack scaffolding," we were able to install it without any issues. Additionally, during the lateral reconfiguration, the movable floor was never lowered to the ground, which minimized the impact on ground operations. 【Overview】 ■ Location/Prefecture: Hokkaido ■ Client: Hokkaido Airport Co., Ltd. ■ Construction Company: Kajima, Miyasaka, Arai Joint Venture ■ Start of Use: August 2009 ■ Local Workers' Experience with Rack Scaffolding: First time ■ Dispatch of Rack Scaffolding Handling Instructors: Yes *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Scaffolding Construction Achievements] Himi Yume Bridge

Thank you for using the repair work on the Hirabayashi Bridge on the Nagasaki Expressway.

We would like to introduce our construction achievements at the Hirakawa Dream Big Bridge. For the side span, we adopted a method using rack scaffolding that minimizes traffic restrictions on the intersecting general national and prefectural roads by "extending the scaffolding using rails to quickly install full suspended scaffolding." In the central span, we utilized rack scaffolding as a standard "lateral movement suspended scaffolding." Additionally, due to the limited number of suspension points, we were able to efficiently carry out the installation of fall prevention sheets on the underside of the main girder. Furthermore, since the suspension points of the scaffolding consist only of web suspension pieces, we were able to eliminate the need for anchor installation on the bridge superstructure. 【Overview】 ■ Location/Prefecture: Nagasaki Prefecture ■ Client: West Japan Expressway Company Limited, Kyushu Branch ■ Construction Company: Mitsui Sumitomo Construction Co., Ltd., Kyushu Branch ■ Start of Use: R06.5 to R07.4 ■ Local workers' experience with rack scaffolding: First time ■ Dispatch of rack scaffolding handling instructors: Yes *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

[Scaffolding Construction Achievements] Portopia Ohashi Bridge

We have proposed a method to use three units as one set for your painting and repainting work!

We would like to introduce our construction achievements for the repainting work of the Portopia Bridge (a lower chord truss bridge) on the Kobe New Transit Port Island Line. Due to the large installation pitch of the hanging pieces on the underside and sides of the girder, setting up the hanging scaffolding was more challenging than usual. For this reason, we adopted "rack scaffolding" for this repainting work as well, given our experience in similar projects. Since there is a height variation of 5.6 meters (from 2m to 7.6m), we proposed a method of using a total of three units—one for the underside of the girder and two for the sides—configured as one set. [Overview] ■ Location/Prefecture: Hyogo Prefecture ■ Client: Kobe City ■ Construction Company: Showbond Construction Co., Ltd. ■ Start Date of Use: July 2013 ■ Local Workers' Experience with Rack Scaffolding: First time ■ Dispatch of Rack Scaffolding Handling Instructor: Yes *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Scaffolding Construction Achievements] Hitotsuba Ohashi

At the Hitotsuba Toll Road, specifically at the Hitotsuba Bridge over the Oyo River, seismic reinforcement work has been carried out.

We would like to introduce our construction achievements at the Hitotsuba Ohashi Bridge. The rack scaffolding was utilized not only as a "side-moving suspended scaffold" but also for the transportation of removed materials and the delivery of new materials. By using the running rails of the rack scaffolding for "material transportation" and "rack scaffolding reconfiguration," it became possible to almost eliminate traffic restrictions on the bridge surface of the Hitotsuba Ohashi Bridge (one lane on one side). 【Overview】 ■ Location/Prefecture: Miyazaki Prefecture ■ Client: Miyazaki Prefectural Road Public Corporation ■ Construction Company: Fuji P.S. Shitagumi Joint Venture ■ Start Date of Use: June 2023 to July 2025 ■ Local workers' experience with rack scaffolding: First time ■ Dispatch of rack scaffolding handling instructors: Yes *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
